The mantra
It doesn't promise that nothing breaks. It shows what holds.
Solida Coesione is Italian for solid cohesion. There are no words on the painting: its meaning is the mantra.
Two tall figures hold each other so closely that they become one shape. Two figures without a face, on layered greys and whites with marks of red and ochre. Nothing in the painting is running. It stands.
The two figures have no face, no age, no gender. It isn't about anyone in particular. It's about what holds.
Will a painting fix anything? No. But you'll see it every morning.
